Kann is a Haitian restaurant in Portland, OR. Through our food, we honor Haitian culture and history and celebrate the country’s rich contributions to the world. One of which is coffee. In the late 1700s, Haiti produced half the world's coffee, including some of the best beans, all grown on the backs of enslaved peoples. In fact, it was in part the conditions on these coffee plantations that led to the Haitian revolution, when the Haitian people freed themselves from French colonial rule and established the world’s first black republic in 1804. Deadstock Coffee is black-owned coffee company run by a group of knuckleheads from all across the world who embrace the conjunction of bean snob and sneakerhead. We’re proud to make coffee for y’all.
